The Consumer Policy Center (CPC) is a think tank whose experts undertake research and commentary to advance the consumer interest on institutional issues affecting consumer welfare. These experts focus special attention on business and government principles, practices, and rules affecting consumer pocketbooks, health, and safety.
The CPC was launched in early 2025 by policy experts supported by an administrative staff. Many of these experts have led consumer or government organizations, held university appointments, and published scholarly research. All are committed to the advancement of the consumer interest through objective, nonpartisan research and commentary. We recognize that this interest sometimes may be challenging to determine and that it may vary among different individuals and groups.
CPC goals in its first year include expanding and diversifying its roster of fellows, helping these experts reach broad audiences, and providing new information and insights to those influencing and making consumer policy.
CPC experts are dedicated to advancing the consumer interest by conducting rigorous, objective, and nonpartisan research on policies that impact consumer welfare. Our work focuses on ideas and solutions that promote fairness, transparency, and improved outcomes for consumers in the production, sale, and use of goods and services. CPC operates independently of any political or corporate influence and maintains a commitment to unbiased analysis. Our experts’ conclusions are grounded in thorough, data-driven research and extensive evidence.
